WHAT IS LIGHT THERAPY?

Why can light therapy work so widely?
This is because light therapy works at the cellular (mitochondrial) level. light stimulates the cell's energy source - mitochondria, they begin to produce more energy that the human body can use for recovery and repair (link to source).
Types of light therapy
Definition. Low-intensity red LED photobiomodulation, applied to the skin or for local pain relief.
How ir works. Penetrates ≈ 2-3 mm into the dermis, activates cytochrome-C oxidase in mitochondria → ATP increases, collagen synthesis intensifies. Definition. Longer than red waves, reaching muscles and joints.

Definition. Using narrow-spectrum blue LED light for skin care.
How ir works. Affects the surface of the epidermis (≤ 1 mm), photochemically destroys Cutibacterium acnes porphyrins and inhibits sebaceous gland hyperactivity and easily reaches the superficial epidermis. The 405 nm spectrum directly inhibits the growth of fungal hyphae, 635 nm supports tissue regeneration.
Result. How to choose a light therapy device?
